The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam has just decided to impose an official anti-dumping tax on a number of table and chair products imported from China.

The Trade Remedies Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on February 17. Specifically, the official anti-dumping tax rate applied to chair products is 21.4% and table products is 35.2%. This is also the temporary anti-dumping tax imposed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on Chinese desk and chair products from September 30, 2022.

The decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam was made after the investigation of the anti-dumping case on Chinese table and chair products imported into Vietnam. This ministry and related units have carefully reviewed and evaluated the impact of dumping of imported products on the domestic industry and the level of dumping of Chinese enterprises.

The level of dumping of Chinese desk and chair products under investigation is determined in accordance with the above-mentioned tax rate.

Recently, products of tables and chairs imported from Malaysia into Vietnam were also investigated for anti-dumping; However, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam did not see any evidence, so the investigation was terminated.
